Exciting Updates for Wii U

Time:2013-03-06 18:21:26   Author:TinyDeal

The early console firmware updates could sometimes wildly change the experience of using the console, that’s why firmware updates could often more exciting than game releases.

When it comes to the Wii U, its version 2.1.3 was released on Monday night. At just 30MB, the update is significantly smaller than the multi-gigabyte mandatory download awaiting new Wii U owners when they unbox the console, but it still takes longer than expected to download and install. After tested, it was found that the update took approximately five minutes before the machine restarted.

According to Nintendo, this update only brings "further improvements to overall system stability," while another update planned for April will add "new features and further improvements to the user experience." This larger feature update, which Nintendo previously announced for the spring, will most likely deliver faster load times between menus and Virtual Console support, offering a selection of NES and SNES games for download.

As of December 31, the Wii U has officially globally sold 3.06 million hardware units and 11.69 million software copies since launch. But Ubisoft CEO said Wii U needs to sell more. At the same time, British supermarket chain Asda has introduced a Wii U price cut of £50. So we can expect that sale of wii u would increase.
